I am having a very hard time finding 2012 12m Rally's. At least in good shape. Im at the point that its time to try a new brand maybe the Best Cabo or Blade. Thanks for the input. |

Wow, 35 bucks off a complete kite?! That is a steal!
Probably only 30% more than you could get a new kite for! Thanks SA! |

Yes that's me:
Pete: 35 bucks off a already discounted kite I thought was a huge discount:
I am talking 2013: for just anybody on the street with no connection is great:
I did not want to put numbers up : but under 850 new kite I thought is a screaming deal: guess I am the chump because I bought two one for Argentina and one for California?
Honestly am not sure realwater will honner this: but its a good deal if they do and gets a kite pimp like me a bunch of extra credit if people really call to order:
that's the deal they gave me: and I went for it:
What I like about a CABO is when you bring the kite over the top of the window and dive it down , the bar Is silky smooth in the gusts, and the bar is light on the arms: D>P> secret agent; _________________ -know as the SECRET AGENT- |

You were so explicit in your first post, I'm not sure how I missed all of these important details! |

been ridding the CABO for awhile now and my kite is like new; 2dr is the stuff;
thing is great, jumps great, upwind is awesome, If I like this kite you will too;
never had the wing tip pinch on stock setting;
low end < grunt> seems fine for 11m,
only thing that helped me was some 3m extensions for the trees are very tall, here in argentina;,,,,,,

Lame pimping a shop in NC. Go buy local, for 35 bucks its worth it to support your local shops and kite community. _________________ Less fighting more kiting

For a while, I thought our area in the Midwest was one of the few areas who love the 2012 Rallys for waves? I've sold a lot of Rally's to riders who will not get rid of them. Myself included. As a dealer, I usually turn over kites every year and I still have a full quiver from 6m - 12m and I wish I didn't sell my 14m. It's going on 3 years now and still love them except if it's violent gusty winds.
Sooner or later though the kites will be worn out and have to be replaced. I've also contacted Slingshot with no response from Tony. Or was it Jeff? Not sure. That was months ago.
Worldwide though they like the Rally without the "leech flutter". Love the 2014's for boosting, but I still have not found a better kite for waves than the 2012 Rally.
In my opinion, they should release a Rally W with upgraded graphics and call it a day.

Hey Lurk,
I'm manning the Slingshot Rider Hotline M-F, 8-5 dude! I'll admit, sometimes I take a kite break or I'll be helping other people, but I'm able to get to most inquiries within a day or two. If you, or anybody else besides SA, ever have any questions about anything just drop me a line at 509-427-4950 or info@slingshotsports.com.
Don't be gone for too long y'hear?!

I tried a 2013 9m Airush Wave yesterday at Manzanita for probably my best day ever. I could s turn straight at it and it wouldn't Hindenburg like my Lithiums. It's not as grunty as the Lithium but definitely faster. It looks like a RPM but with a thin leading edge and long bridles with pulleys too. I'm still a newb so I haven't tried a lot of kites but there was a guy on a Rally killing it too. Only my second year kiting but it probably helped that it was steady 25 NW with 3' SW swell at 15 seconds!
Seems like SS should have a dedicated wave kite. Could a second set of bridles transform a freeride into a wave kite? |

SLINGSHOT IS FROM OUR FUCKING BACK YARD AND HAS PUT ALOT OF TIME IN THE GORGE....DO NOT EVER DIS THE HOOD OR BACK YARD YOU KITE IN.... THERE ARE ALOT OF GOOD PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED VERY HARD FOR ALL OF US TO HAVE THE CONCEPTS OF KITE DESIGNS AND HOW THEY CAN BE SAFE . They did. Itīs called a Rev. Just ask Gman.
macgruber wrote: | It looks like a RPM but with a thin leading edge and long bridles with pulleys too. |
Hmmm...like a Rev? I'm starting to see a pattern here.
Screw the Rally redesign....let's take this all the way back to 2008 and rebrand Rev's as "wave specific".
Face it gentlemen, the sad truth is 95% of us will never use the full potential of any kite brand we hold in our hands and if you think you qualify for Team 5% ask yourself if you unhook in real waves, not Gorge waves. |
