Our B3 has a shit ton of power in 50-60kts, pretty much to the point where I can't hold the thing down in neutral, so ~90 would be INSANE!!! B2 with 600lbs line..?

Hey nice find Dano... I posted this on the best forum, where SQ is talking about holding down a 7m Waroo at 46mph. Me and a few other PacNW peeps are letting him know he is mistaken.
What's the most wind y'all been out in? What kite? I think the most wind was either at SS on Henry's 5m SB or at Rooster a couple weeks ago. I think SS was more. I think it was gusting to 40mph+.
Also in Costa Rica a couple years ago, super lit on 7m on short lines.

you have to wonder what the right wind strength would be for doing a full powered downwinder on a surfboard with no kite...
i suggest a leash or straps, otherwise the board will fly away if you ever drop it.

My wind guage was reading gusts of 73 MPH for a while this evening but the wind just died down and is starting to come in out of the west. For now anyway... It was definitely rockin and rollin!

I was out at Siletz until just around 1pm. It went from just right on my 12 waroo to couldn't hold it down fully de-powered in about 3 seconds. It was starting to rain anyway, so I took off...
Siletz is a very cool place. I got there right about the end of low tide, so the first 1/2 hour or so was pretty tough to stay up wind (the water was still going out). After that, the wind got a little stronger, and it was pretty cool... fairly smooth water, easy set up/launch at low tide (lots of beach). There was a tricky part right in the middle where the river current was. It seemed like I would lose a lot of ground and speed right in the middle.

Glad you made it out and liked it. If you're ever heading out again let me know if you want someone to ride with. With JP not down here at school now, I'm not so motivated to drive an hour and 15 mins to go ride (and pay for gas). I've never done it before, but Jim down there said when it's blowing due west it's sweet. Supposedly you can run up and down the length of Siletz all day. And it would seem like the tide wouldn't matter so much either.
You're absolutely right about the current. We've been out there on +6-7ft days when the bay is pretty much filled in, but still incoming (N wind day), and you can go from being ultra lit to nothing at the northern end, just from hitting the current. That's up towards Moe's though where JP had a baby seal (or whatever they are), riding underneath him in like 4ft of water!!!

the 5.0 is the most fun kite I have . from 30-35 mph
from 35 -40 is still very fun and gettin a little jiggy
40 is cool
45 is not cool
But i bet a 3.0 would be ,
but not worth buying for the few times it would good with that kind of wind.
we have a south exposure that looks out on a lake
the walls were moving in and out as well as the windows and every once in a while the whole house would rumble and shake.
But it's been here since the early 60's and we are the newcomers,,
it's no La Ventana, but I doubt it has hurricane clips either
