I have a 5'11" Pit and it absolutely rips.. One of the best boards I have ever ridden.. I use it in the Gorge 10 meter down to 4.5 meter.. Great High wind board that rides smooth and turns insane... Good coast board if you are powered..
It is pretty narrow all the way aroud compared to the Celeratas.. Totaly different animal.. I owned one oof the 5'6"s a few years back..
I weigh around 170ish..
Hope this info helps.. |

I'm 6' and 200 and usually ride the 511pit around Rowena-Dougs-ish.
Love it! Goes upwind well. I do 2 mile up and downs all the time. Turns like butter. I'm starting to get all excited just thinking about it. |

I bought a 5'11" pit as my first directional. From the sounds of it I made a good choice. I can't wait for good temps and wind. _________________ Switch Nitro II (8m, 10m, 12m)

| Thanks for the input...I was worried about upwind ability in light winds...I live on lake erie...we dint get clean waves just large rolling swell...I know its not designed for light wind but how does it perform when it gets light...still better than a twin tip I assume |

My parents are east of Cleveland and we head out there a couple times a year. Where are the spots on Lake Erie that you launch? |

In your situation think the Celeritas 2013 is a better fit. The 5'11 pit is a true surfing machine-- the bigger and smoother the wave/chop the more it shines. It will work just fine, as in really well, but small lake chop is not its primary focus.
It will go upwind well, and be an order of magnitude better than a twin in light wind, regardless, like any surfboard would
