The ten year anniversary of the Montana Snowkite Rodeo is nearly here. Based out of the Jackson Hot Springs in Jackson, Montana, conditions for this year's Rodeo are looking prime. New snow over the past few weeks have fattened up the snowpack in the Big Hole. My visit there this week rewarded me with fully lit 10m conditions and balmy 28 degree(F) temperatures.

This event is truly a core snowkiters holiday: No prizes, no official competitions, no entry fee, no bs. It is a total fun fest! If your idea of a great time is a morning soak in natural hot springs, kiting pow all day, a few drinks in the bar at happy hour, another soak in the springs (with drinks, of course) and doing it all again the next day and the day after that... ...you get the idea and you need to be there!

Demos from Ozone & Slingshot will be there for you to fly.

Here is a recap from last year: http://www.flyozone.com/snowkites/en/news/headlines/19904

It all begins Friday Feb 15. Hope to see you there! Here's a few photos from this week:

GO TO THIS!
Damn, I went in a shitty year a few years ago and even without and wind and darn little snow it was all day all night fun & party with incredibly nice people. I cannot imagine how great it will be this year with good coverage and winds.

Hi all ,
I don't see many replies here , does this mean there is no interest or ......
Here in Alberta , well Edmonton area any way , the wind is crap . I'm not happy with the fact so I decided to book a room and go to this . I can't wait for the PBR Sad , maybe my boss will be forgiving when I call him asking for more time off so I can attend it as well ?!
I have kited Georgetown Lake Mt. but not this area yet . Sounds promising .
It'll be at least 12hrs driving so I'll be looking forward to a good soak in the pool . and a few of the liquid PBR's .
Hope to see some of you there Smile

Worth the trip to see the tree climbing sheep. They get more active if you wear cowboy boots.

All I can say we visited Jackson, MT (rented the nice house behind Hotsprings- cheap) and had a great time. We kited four out four days and really enjoying the natural clean hotsprings. That weekend happened to be their annual Firemen's Ball. All kinds of ladies come out for a little "Two Stepping". It was almost as wild as the old MSR days at the Brown Derby!

Hey Grant,

All the rooms at the Jackson Hot Springs lodge are booked. The closest lodging at this point would be either Anaconda or dillon Mt. The closest airports are Missoula or Butte. I will be posting on our forum at www.montanakitesports.com daily on the event days with the location for the day. My contact info is on the web site so don't hesitate to give me a call anytime for more details.

I just rented a house in Jackson so I have a couple of free rooms at the lodge and the house. Give me a call if any body needs lodging.
