Where is everyone going to kite this winter Question Water and sun, snow, whatever? Make your plans now....it seems like the airline ticket prices have dipped a little bit. They are still higher than last year, but better than they were a month ago.

Let me know when your going to hit the steens. I went out to the alvord with kite stuff a couple winters ago. There was snow up on the steens and catlow valley but the flats were pretty barren.

Call the ranger station down there (malheur or hart mountian) they can give the skinny on winds and snow.

I got skunked but still had a blast, I love it out there.

Steens...!!! Confused ...What about the hills just above Biggs Junction and surrounding areas...I used to go up there a lot years ago - deer and bird hunting....I remember seeing lots of field circles - corn fields - wheat/hey fields...Open farm land with lots of space. Maybe something to consider the next time it snows along eastside of Gorge - I-84....Just a thought, I guess...
