Most people would take this advice under the common sense category but you have to admit the urge to get on the water is great.

I was letting a friend learn with my CB 16. A couple hard smacks on the water..and one on the beach later, I decided to take the kite for a quick spin.

I noticed a small split in the leading edge (about 3") and the bladder was bulging a little. Hmmm, well I'lll just let some air out and it should hold.

300 yards offshore....BOOM. 4 foot seam unzip and bladder explosion. Followed by unneccessary but helpfull "rescue" by two naked guys in a zodiac.

So I turned a $20 repair into a $180 repair. OUCH!!! AND I had to haul myself into a zodiac at dick level.

Soooo, don't ignore those little tears. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Good advice! I've stayed off the water a day or two before for a small repair on one of my struts. It sucked at the time, but I'm really glad now knowing that those would've been the consequences.

Yeah, that sucks. Was that your grey kite? I had a 3ish feet rip that cost $90 for the tear and 130 for the bladder at Airtime. It was a major bummer.

Tonight I just handed gman's smurfboard up to him, while he was standing on the rail of his rig to put it in his top-carrier. With one hand, I handed the 165 up and then the wind blew it out of my hand before he could grab it and fell 8 feet to the rocks-

Lets just say--there's a few chunks missing....

Sorry G.
