Nate, you're crazy, but yes... If anyone happens to see a Brunotti Pro-X and a Fuel floating downriver with no rider, that probably means I drown somewhere along the way. Confused

Stop at the Event Site? How about Stevenson to Lyle, or even Rufus? Anyone down? The sky looks nasty over my house today. Might bring the wetsuit too. Blah! Random, sorry...

Not sure yet... but if I have to drive, I'd prefer to do the initial pickup from HR to Stevenson, only because I'm super anal about my Pilot.

Steve & are were getting ready to roll to stevensburg, but if someone wants to meet us in HR I'll leave the audi there in order to get this badboy rolling. Call me 503-312-6642 by 1:30, or we will be in route to stevenson.

If you guys wanna roll to HR and just meet everyone there and take a ride back to stevensburg that'd be cool. I'm out of the shop at 2:30 and can make HR by 3:30 traffic willing

the wind was nice and consistant all the way down to homevalley. i was riding alot of the way unhooked going down the line on some of the big swell, right past homevalley i was heading twords oregon unhooked when my kite kinda hit a lull. i turned the kite up pretty fast to get some wind into it but as i did a gust hit me and lofted me like 10ft. as i landed my right hand slipped off the bar leaving my left hand right next to the chickenloop. i was on the water for less then a second before i was lofted wayyy the hell higher. i couldnt fully tell how high i was but i would guess aleast 30 ft. the kite swung a massive slow loop under me as i held on for dear life with my left hand. looking down at the water and my kite i was positive that i was going to die or break both my legs. luckily i didnt let go and the kite made it back up to 45' by the time i made impact. everything was green but when i poped up i was not hurt my back was stinging but thats all. somehow my kite was in the water and my board was downwind. and nobody saw it Evil or Very Mad i didnt unhook again untill the hatchery i was so scared. adam's kite deflated just before veinto and he had to self rescue. a dead spot just past viento forced shy in. nate and i somehow made it the entire way.

damn tuck 30ft unhooked one handed kiteloop above the kite action... sounds like either an "almost died" moment or ruben lenten's latest...

I guess you gotta expect some carnage on a 16 mile downwinder...

Yeah, that shit was crazy. There was a spot about halfway through when I loooked around and all I could see was head high swell and water vapor...it was that strange white smoke you get when the wind goes totally richter scale...totally insane. Just to ride through swell and hatch with only one windsurfer out at dusk was worth it though. I need to get back to those swells with a surfboard next time...
