Chris,

Would you pick up a fellow boarder & hitch-hiker with gas money?

I live nr. 217 & 26. I have a 12 and 16m with two boards.

I'd love to go. 503-888-4336

It was goood today. thanks for driving chris! Seems like we set up too far north and the wind was really wierd.-- real crap. The wind was much better south. Too bad my ankle didn't want to cooperate again after I got yanked!

On Sat. we went to sunset and it was completely Fogged in at 1:30 plus no wind. We headed south to Manzanita where it was sunny & ripping. The sensor said 25-30 but because we set up on the north side of town, It was super gusty--SUPER GUSTY. It went from 40+ to nothing and back to 40+.
It was F*C_#KED! My 12 dropped like a rock in the zero knot lull. I saw it drop almost to the sand --I ran towards it but didn't make it to the kite before It fully powered up and slammed me to the ground. I thinks it we were still to close to the headwall-- we must have been a mile or more away from it. As we walked down past the south side of town the wind was more consistent. Anyone ever had this happen at Manzo?

The bluff does indeed creates a rotor

1) Don't drive up wind close to the bluff!!!
2) Manzo tyipcally gets skitzo after 3ish on days when then the whole coast is forecasted to blow.

fyi, the best launch is... drive into manzo proper, turn left at the last street before the beach. go south 3 blocks to "Edmonds". drive to the access & park

Yeah, I was lit-up with my Ocean Rodeo buddies...just downwind from the "mean-looking" van.

Riding my 13m Fuel all day going back and forth on two-mile treks. And some narly body-dragging with the rookies.. HA, great day. around 5-6pm the waves really started getting hollow.
