it's not just the waroopordoodle. bh and me were on the same kite and he could ride it faster and point it farther upwind.
it is either skill or the special board he has....... must be the board, that's the only explanation. that things like the hope diamond you can't steal it because everyone knows what it looks like.
i'm thinking tommorrow or tues will be fog-free. (it's more fun for me when i can see the kites, surfers, sharks, small children, seals, etc.)

Heard there was some wind at jetty to shipwreck last night. What size kites were people on?
Manzanita was really weird, the sensor doesn’t tell the story. Around 4:30 good wind filled in at the mountain and about a mile offshore. Probably 18-20+. But it didn’t fill in to the beach until south of the sensor—all the way at the park. We went there, but the wind would slowly phase in and out. Got out on my 7 around 6, but not reliable enough for the sizable waves. If there was a way to get another mile further south it may have worked, or just stay offshore… Crazy to see strong wind so close to a beach for so long, and not really come ashore. Manzanita tips: when things are weird, drive up to the overlook to see what’s happening, and be willing to launch further down the beach.

You didn't miss anything at Shipwreck/sunset. Maybe 5-10 knots but coming from SW. Stayed around till 6. Went up on Astoria tower on the way home and saw nice wind way out in river but SW - seemed to miss the beach.
