I have the opportunity to buy a brand new TD 8 with bar/pump/bag for $800.
Is anyone flying this kite? I know there have been some issues but was looking for some first hand info on it. I haven't had an opportunity to demo one and this deal will go quickly..
Thanks guys!!

Tucker does... and he'll probably post/PM you if you ask nice!
I haven't ridden his 8, but I really like the 12. |

The more I read about its range, i'm thinking its going to be a little small for me on all but the windiest days. I'm pushing 190lbs on a 132. Looking for a good gorge kite. I always seemed pretty lit on my 10 fuel. But then again, that was 20 lbs ago. LOL |

I have a TD 6 and 10 and love them both, but only weigh 110. No equipment problems to report. Seems like an 8 would be a little small for your Gorge kite if you weigh 190. -Tonski |

Thanks for the input Tonski. SS makes quality stuff for sure and they are local as well so that is always a good thing. I think I'll troll for a 10, or at least get off my arse and meet with Jeff Logosz about his kite beach plans at the new stevenson site. |

RE: The Slingy launch at Stevenson
I am not sure how permanent it is, but right now they have a floating dock setup and put some astroturf down the hillside. This is about 200 feet upwind of the current launch. I haven't tried it but it looks like it would work good enough. Got to be sweet having a kite launch right at the backdoor of your offices. |

yea i ride the 8 alot. its a really good kite but its hard to tune, and if its not tuned right it flies pretty bad. i am 165 and i can ride from about 17mph to ~35 or 40 the sweetspot is in the 20s. since you have about 30 lbs on me i think the 10 would probably be better for the same range. |

Indeed, as per our phone conversation they would like to have something with a little nicer ammenaties and more user friendly.
Completely off topic but has anyone tried that instant launcher do-hicky that was all over kite magazines awhile back? |

If you're not buying the TD 8, maybe you could post where this deal is? Thanks!

Just an FYI on Mike Winter. He bought a quiver of 2006 Fuels from me, then turned them over for a profit the day after he received them. He also did not truthfully represent the kites when he turned them over to someone else. Hte guy struck me as a bit of a scammer more concerned about turning a buck, than anything else.

I thought the same thing, I mean, how can you misrepresent a brand new kite still folded from the factory?
If someone has a line on cheap kites and wants to sell them brand new below retail that is just fine with me... |
