Has anyone kiteboarded in Costa Rica. Any information on best locations and an inexpensive place to stay for about a month would be greatly appreciated. Ben and Vickie

whatever you do, don't use the search function. There has never been any posts at all about costa rica. Nobody has ever kited there and nobody knows anything about it. I have never even heard of Costa Rica.

Like monkey said (sarcastically), there's a lot of info if you use the search.
General summary: Super windy, beautiful country.
Make sure you plan both a kiting porition of your trip, and a non-kiting portiion. As some of the best parts of the country are not where you go kiting. Don't go to just one place, I'd plan on hitting at least 2-3 spots in the Country.
The kiting is intermediate to advanced just because its so windy. Bring a 5m-7m-9m... 9m will be your lightwind kite (no kidding.)

These guys are correct.
We offer kite lessons, gear rental and beach front villas in Bahia Salinas, Costa Rica...great wind, super fun kiting.
Also can get you to other non-kiting adventures...close to the border of Nicaragua, which is also a great place!!!!

Bahia Salinas was great. Headed back there in 2 days. this spring I spent most of my time on a 7 or 5m. Recreo was Awesome. My Recreo/ Windwing trip was one of best 9 days of my life. (And I was there working ) There is so much to do, I hardly even wanted to kite. Rincon is a must. Zip-lines, horseback, tubing, mud bath, sauna...
If you are going to travel around CR for a while I would still bring a 12m for the coastal sites. I hear they're not as strong as in Bahia Salinas (and mostly off-shore).
Contact Bob Selfridge. He knows it all, and can hook you up. I can't wait to get back there.
