hey, im trying to figure out how to put my footpads and straps on my new kiteboard. I am hoping to get some pointers so I don't f anything up. I got a hammersurf ono with a line of screw holes down the middle, dakine footpads with plates (3 holes on each side of the pads), and some martin footstraps.
When I bought the stuff I realized I wasnt quite sure how to put it all together after I had always bought my boards complete.
I am going to stick down the pads, but should I also put screws through them too? and the martin footstraps have six holes on each side of the strap but there is really only room for one hole on the board for me to screw each side of the strap to, is this enough? heres a site with pictures of the martin straps:

any help would be much appreciated, thanks alot. ben _________________ "Drink triple, see double and act single." |

dont glue those things down. if they have a plate you just screw the footsraps in through the holes in the pad. one screw for each side of the strap is just fine all those holes are there so you have alot of stance options. most shops will be fully willing to help you set it up if you bring it in. |

all the different holes on the straps make them adjust to the shape of your foot. Your going to have to play around a little to see what feels right.
After you get things where you want them, then you can stick the pads down. You will also do well to back the screws out and use some loctite on them. For some reason the screws on my board always like to loosen up.
Enjoy your new board!! |

If the holes are indeed down the middle like
you say then it will be difficult to get much
duck angle. You might want to take the Dakine
pads back and come by and get some of
my plates. That will allow you to mount the
straps directly to the plates and then mount
the whole assembly to the board with your
desired stance width and duck angle.
I've got some '05 Hein plates that I can let go
cheap.
