I met this pack of groms when I was in Florida a couple of months ago. Talk about stoke, these guys are consumed with it.

So what do they do when there's no wind, and crummy little waves and they've got the bad jones to ride? Watch this.

I find that comment very offensive!

I will not tolerate mythical animal cruelty!

Skim thing looks like fun though.
I tried hooking an old bar to some rafters via bungee and it didn't work too well.
every time I let go of the bar it would shoot back up and get caught in the rafters.

Ya mostly I was impressed that these kids had figured out a creative way to satisfy their board lust and they weren't just vegging on GTA-IV or Halo.

Later in the day I had them doing big kite jumps with a 5M racing foil in about 10mph winds. They learned quick and they were really into jumping. One of them ended up getting a kite and sent me a msg that he's doing flips now too.

Anything to kill the time. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess. Stoke is stoke so I guess it is all relative.

if you check out riverboarding on u tube i have done this about a mile upriver of high rocks with just a tow rope its a good place to practice strapless riding of course you will need a leash on your board, about 150 feet of rope and a flotation devise for the rope

So why did you choose to get a tattoo of a giant blurry strawberry? Were they all out of unicorns?

perryj,

I remember when I was but a lad and had a girl friend out by the Clacky. The locals would hook up a piece of plywood from the nose of the board to a tree, via a rope, then have a handle rope connected at the fulcrum point.

It was really fun. Just stand on the board at the side of the river, lean on out as far as you could go, then see what tricks were possible before getting pulled of the board.
