BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT!!!!!

We didnt get quite the epic day like we planned, Mt Ashland just didnt let up any goods, Nothing like a 2-3 mile hike to get skunked.

Today was a lil better, We re-located to the hwy 140 great meadows snow park (140 flats). the winds we're pretty shifty but almost everyone got to ride!

It was a great time this winter, Hopefully this gives some of you the idea of the potential this area has for snowkiting. Next year we will try something a lil different to make the most out of the experience.

SEE YOU ALL AGAIN SOON!!!!

I just got in and unloaded my car and had to post of the forum. I am so stoked after this weekend!! Snowkiting kicks ass!! I got my first taste of it this weekend and I'm definately going back for some more.

The weekend was a blast - met some very cool bros - shared some beers - caught some wind - and had a very good time.

As for snowkiting - its a trip man!! It feels new but its not. I've been snowboarding and kiteboarding for a while and I'm comfortable with both - snowkiting feels like both - but doesn't really feel like either Shocked sort of hard to explain. But it does feel very sweet! It really is a hybrid between the two sports.

Do you remember your stoke when you first got to ride on the water? Well, this was sort of similar - but you can start riding right away without having to take lessons (this is assuming you are already a fairly good kiter on the water). So you get that fresh stoke feeling without having to put in all that time in learning. Of course there is much to learn about snowkiting - but you can pretty much just rig and ride and learn the differences as you go on.

A big shout out to Sol-Flyer- thanks for setting this up!! - very happy to have met him. A very cool bro - willing to help and go out of his way - I got into a little bit of trouble when I first got started and was having issues with my kite - Sol came cruising by with his own kite and totally helped me out wizzing back and forth helping me get straightened out. Seriously - happy to have someone like that as a fellow kiter!!!

It's getting late and I have to work tomorrow (and I'm exhausted from the day and having to drive back). I'll post some pics tomorrow or Tuesday.

I came back and read the forum - sounds like there was stoke all around!!! Good to hear!! Good weekend. Also, A big thanks to Phil for setting up a sweet forum so that guys like me can share the stoke and get even more motivated and also connect with other kiters (I learned of SnowDaze from this forum). So thanks Phil for setting up this site and by the way - I don't care if you read my PM's Laughing Cool Very Happy - you can read more about this past weekend!!

PS - do I look fat in that picture SOL posted HAhaha!!

Glad you guys didnt get skunked both days, nothin worse after such a long drive and the expense, but just one day of kiting makes it worth it.

Thats awesome you finally got some snow action in Terre. Im still not sure which one I like better, snow or water. They both have great perks. It is sweet on snow how much of an edge you can hold in the right conditions. Also right when flatland is clickin for you, step foot on some good terrain and a whole new world of possibility is opened up. Such a sweet feeling cruising up a hill as fast as you just came down it. Hope to see you out in MT for the rodeo next year!

thanks terremo!

Glad you had fun! The snow can be quite the unique experience. I hope next time we can show you the real potential of the area. Hope to ride with you soon!

Sol, thanks for putting that all together. It was nice to meet everyone and see people riding in spite of fickle wind. Terremoto, thanks for the weekend, congrats on on the flat 140 ride.

I had been wanting to try out snowkiting for a while now. I planned a trip in November to drive out to Montana - but at the last minute the wind took a huge turn for the worse.

I still have those pics - I'll post some - and send you guys the rest.
