Has anyone wing foiled at Floras Lake? Heading down this weekend but new to foiling. Just curious if it is doable? I windsurfed there many years ago but cant remember what it was like there. Any tips are appreciated. |

Tons of peeps are doing it and the school is teaching it so there will be plenty. They are all launching from the school are and staying lower on the lake to stay out of the way of the kiters. |

Is the access still on the north end of lake? |

Yes, but either the wing-a-lings are all coming from the school or, if they are on their own, they seem to be walking around the east/campground/school side of the lake to launch with wings. This also might be because that N and W sides are so much shallower on initial launch. |

No foilers or wingers on our part of the flats on the north end. Territory time. . Honesty too dang shallow for your expensive carbon fiber pieces of art. Just cross little dune and hit the ocean where it’s super deep!! _________________ Take a breath; inhale |

Unless you have a short mast, go south a little to avoid the bottom and weeds. Please note, it's a crazy walk through the trees, to the trail on the ocean side if you can't get back up wind. _________________ "I have often regretted my speech, never my silence" ~Xenocrates |

You'll definitely need a shorter mast. I've foiled there on a 36" mast, and it was tricky towards the north parts of the lake. It's doable, but a sub 28" mast would save you the headache. |
