Mon Nov 27, 17 7:24 am OT: Weigh in on Off Road Cycling in Forest Park |
|
|
The group in Bureau of Planning and Sustainability that is tasked with creating an off-road cycling master plan for the city has developed a set of recommendations. The recommendations include new and revised trails in Forest Park.
The recommendations and open house information are available on their web site (and has been for more than a week) but for some reason no email notice has been sent to the interested parties list, The project team is accepting input through December 17. The proposal will then go to the Parks Board, and then to City Council, probably early next year.
You can participate in the online open house, which allows you to review the recommendations and provide comments to the project team here: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/75206
This is another very complicated online open house – you need to open the map, then click on part of the map that you are interested in (for example the Central Unit of Forest Park, or the South Unit), then scroll down in the box on the right side of the screen to see what is proposed and further down to provide comments on that one area. Submit those comments, then if you want to comment on another area you click on that new part of the map and repeat the process. You can also see the proposals as a whole (probably more easily) by opening the discussion draft document before you go to the map. The discussion draft is here: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/73387
If you want to attend an open house to learn more about the proposals, talk to staff, and submit your comments, there are several opportunities:
