Any ideas where it blows and is relatively close to CO? Was thinking Maui, or Mx just don't know if there is wind at this time. Any suggestions welcomed.

march is early for PSC. brrr and wind not reliable. also expensive and not reallyt a spot for last minute or family vacation.
You don't specify what type of kiting you hope for (wave or flat water).
Baja is a good bet. March is good but April can be spotty as the windy season comes to an end and there's less reliable windy days.
Likewise for Central cali. It's a bit early for the windy season. Cali is better in late spring - late April - June. Cali is almost exclusive wave spots.
Maui is a great bet. April is a prime month for both wind and swell if you like wave riding and or surfing. It also has spots that are not wave focused.

I would say Maui is the best bet.

Waddell Creek - but it is a wave location so consider your skill level...

Isn't Mar/Apr a tad early for N. Cal?

We had great wind in SPI in April. Also Mar/Apr is pretty prime time for Florida I believe.

April is prime time for Hatteras. good winds, cheap rentals, empty beaches and air temps cab be decent 60s. If you are flying in Norflok (ORF) is the closest major airport then car rental and 1.5-2 hr drive depending on where you want to go.

April was great last year for N. Cal - but I think El Nino is making things different this year. So far there have more storms with south winds (generally not good), less consistent wind and big surf. Some people are into it but 3x overhead is not much fun for me.

Headed back to Santa Cruz for spring break. Had three great days last year. If no wind, bike, paddle, surf. KSS - you headed down this year? lc
