I was setting up at Kalama today, and a representative of the park, or port or whatever, came up and started asking about kiteboarding there. I guess they want to make the park more user friendly and she actually asked what they could do to make the park more kite friendly! They plan on planting grass to reduce errosion, so I mentioned how nice it would be to have a nice grassy area to rig. We also talked about choosing a grass species that wouldn't puncture bladders as some of the sand grass species do. Nice to have a jurisdiction actually wanting to improve things for us!

Also very light and fluky. I was on a 19m fuel. It would be great for a bit, and then I'd be swimming...

Call Robin (a rather unfortunate name for a guy) at Sunmark seeds and ask him about seed choices. They are located in Troutdale, OR. 1888-214-7333
They sell every seed under the sun and are very knowledgable about grasses and their establishment/ maintenance.
I've bought everything from $275/lb wetland native seed to awesome atheltic field grass from them. |
